Ferran Park Seawall Repairs

In the shallow waters of Lake Eustis, a critical stabilization project was undertaken to halt the leaning of an existing sheet pile wall. The solution involved the installation of 32 pin piles (delivered by Meever USA), each measuring 70 feet in length with 1-inch thick walls. These piles were driven directly into the webs of the existing wall, effectively halting further lateral movement.

Due to the limited water depth and the sensitivity of the barge’s load capacity, East Coast Marine Construction & Design employed a telescoping forklift to place the piles—an unconventional but necessary method to minimize barge weight. Engineering oversight was provided by DMC, whose innovative design enabled successful execution despite environmental and logistical constraints.

Once installed, the piles were encapsulated in a concrete tremie pour, followed by the addition of a steel cap to unify and reinforce the structure. This combined system provides long-term stability for the previously compromised wall.

This project showcases a tailored approach to marine construction in sensitive environments, emphasizing Meever USA’s ongoing commitment to flexibility and performance.
